Partners
PACIFIC gathers 10 partners from 3 EU Member States and the UK.
This collaborative approach helps to consolidate the expertise and resources necessary to address the complex challenges of sustainable aviation. By working together, PACIFIC partners will collectively drive advancements and maintain the European aviation sector’s leadership position.
Particularly aware of the importance of female role models and female leadership demonstrated in collaborative projects (especially in a field such as aeronautics), PACIFIC includes 10 female researchers in its consortium, 3 of them as technical WP Leaders (Katharina Seeliger for WP2, Denise Ahrens for WP6, Christiane Voigt for WP7) and, finally, the project is coordinated by Katharina Seeliger from AIRBUS.
AIRBUS - France - Coordinator - Industry player
PACIFIC is coordinated by AIRBUS, one of the largest worldwide aircraft manufacturers. AIRBUS has been engaged in SAF projects and research for more than 10 years. AIRBUS will provide for PACIFIC an A350 test aircraft for the measurement of ground emissions to the project and will take care of the required clearance activities for non-approved fuels, planning of the test and logistics on the test site. AIRBUS will bring in its experience in performing on-wing emission tests on its test site, its expertise in analysis of engine parameters and emissions, fuel properties and compatibility aspects and will make the link with regulations and potential implications for policy makers

ROLLS-ROYCE - Germany and the UK - Industry player
NESTE - Finland - Industry player
NESTE is the world’s leading producer of sustainable fuels. NESTE brings to PACIFIC expertise of SAF production, properties, and LCA; insights of SAF properties impact on performance and emissions; know-how and facilities for producing small batches of research fuel samples; support on finding solutions for fuel logistics and storage practicalities; deep understanding of aviation climate policies

JOHANNES GUTENBERG UNIVERSITY MAINZ - Germany - University
JOHANNES GUTENBERG UNIVERSITY MAINZ brings the expertise from its institute of atmospheric physics on modelling the climate impact from aviation, in particular dealing with its non-CO2 effects emissions such as contrails
HELSINGIN YLIOPISTO - Finland - University
HELSINGIN YLIOPISTO performs multiscale research from molecular to global scale and focuses on climate change, air quality, biogeochemical cycles, and ecosystem processes. They are bringing to the project (1) measurement of cluster molecules that could initiate new particle formation from gas phase; (2) measurement and identification of different organic molecules with various mass spectrometers; (3) measurement and characterisation of ice nuclei capability of aerosol particles.

THE MANCHESTER METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY - The UK - University
THE MANCHESTER METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY is a widely recognised university; members of the team have held membership of related ICAO/CAEP working groups since 2007 and maintain the ICAO/CAEP-approved greenhouse gas model FAST. Within PACIFIC, MMU will draw on its experience and expertise to contribute to emissions measurement activities and microphysical and contrail model development.
THE UNIVERSITY OF SHEFFIELD - The UK - University

Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt - Germany - Research entity
ERDYN CONSULTANTS - France - SME, innovation consulting
